High water holds the Hjemkomst hostage.

HOW WOULD YOUR ORGANIZATION HANDLE A RECORD-LEVEL FLOOD?

Or how would it handle being closed to customers for an extended period of time?  When a 500-year record flood hit Fargo-Moorhead, the rising floodwaters threatened this museum and community landmark.   But thanks to hard-working staff and dedicated volunteers - and an evolving disaster recovery plan -  the Hjemkomst Center survived, despite high water levels that were very slow to recede.  Even with a plan in place recovery wasn't easy, as Executive Director Maureen Kelly Jonason explains.

PLAN TO STAY AFLOAT

The Hjemkomst Center already had some emergency plans in place when the record-setting flood of 2009 hit. They used the experience to expand and refine their plan.

If your organization doesn't currently have a business continuity plan in place, please don't wait. Start the process today.
